Mounting it to the magazine base is only necessary if you want to train with the Mantis X from the holster. For all other types of training, the Glock (from Gen3) offers a practical guide rail on the front part for easy attachment of the Mantis X.

To train the Mantis X from the holster, you must attach the MagRail to the magazine base of the Glock.
